Invest in your business... get a good Sewing Machine...Sewing machine....hmmmm.. I love to paint... but I also love to sew.. not really clothes, but recycled things.. such as denim raggedy quilts, bags, totes etc.. my sewing machine... was a 21st birthday present from my parents.. and without giving away my age!.. its has seen better days!
But like most people, especially crafters, you keep plugging away using the same equipment for years that you know so well!.. I have some of the same beaten up old brushes that still do the job, but when it came to my sewing machine.. I decided that maybe it was time.. Mine was an old Eaton Viking, and it started sounded worse than my old car.. like it needed a muffler or something!.. being frugal, I still didn't break down and get a new one.. frankly the new ones scare me! tons of buttons and computerized gadgets that I would need to take a course to figure out!.. I borrowed my daugthers portable Kenmore that she was not using, and it did just what mine did.. forwards, backwards a little zig zag.. all I need to sew mostly straight lines!.. Put in a heavy duty needle.. and guess what? she never got it back.. until last week when at 23 she moved out on her own.. so now I am shopping for a sewing machine!.. take your time, and have a good look around.. there are also some good deals online, its one way to check out all the makes on one page!. Just make a list of your basic needs for a machine, and then see what other options you can get for a bonus!.. I guess I am not one for change!... but it looks like its time to put some money back in my business.. my brushes are looking a little tired as well!
